SIMPLY ITALIAN GREAT WINES AMERICAS TOUR 2015 RETURNS TO DOWNTOWN MIAMI 

Series of Guided Tasting Seminars, Walk-Around Wine and Food Tasting for Press and Trade

at the Adrienne Arsht Center;

Simply Italian to Honor Simply the Best Women in Wine.

 

MIAMI, FL (February 3rd, 2015) – Simply Italian Great Wines Americas Tour returns to Miami for its 17th annual trade tasting in South Florida on Wednesday, February 11th to showcase its much-anticipated selection of fine Italian wine.

Organized by International Event and Exhibition Management, I.E.E.M., and International Exhibition Management, I.E.M., the enduringly popular Simply Italian trade event brings together influential local and international wine industry leaders. For the first time, I.E.E.M. has partnered with the cultural Adrienne Arsht Center to host a series of educational seminars and tastings presented by distinguished experts in their respective fields:

 

10:00 a.m. James Beard Foundation award-winning food and wine writer, Lyn Farmer, will lead the “Friuli Venezia Giulia, Land of Caves, Land of Wine” guided tasting and seminar, with wines from the region presented by the Friuli Grave Consortium.

11:30 a.m. World-renowned sommelier and star of the upcoming ‘The Duel of Wine’, the charismatic wine expert, Charlie Arturaola, will share his expertise during “United Wines of Veneto” along with Unione Consorzi Vini Veneti DOC.

1 p.m. Riccardo Ricci Curbastro, President of Federdoc will introduce a seminar entitled “Traceability and Regulation of Italian DOC Wines” followed by a guided tasting of prestigious wines.

From 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., Simply Italian attendees will gather inside the Adrienne Arsht Center’s splendid Ziff Ballet Opera House Lobby for an expansive walk-around wine and food tasting. More than 40 producers from Italy's finest regions will pour their latest releases exclusively for press and trade members. The wines will be complemented by culinary bites from well-regarded South Florida Italian local favorite restaurants such as Bocce, Toscana Divino - Ironside Pizza, and Via Verdi.

 

 

As part of the day's festivities, Simply Italian will also honor some of the most notable women in the wine industry with the “Simply the Best Awards,” which recognize: Best Woman Wine Communicator, Best Woman Wine Educator, Best Woman Italian Wine Buyer, Best Woman Sommelier and Best Italian Trailblazer.

 

Simply Italian Great Wines Americas Tour will conclude the evening with a VIP cocktail reception at the popular newly opened Made in Italy Gourmet from 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm featuring a selection of fine Italian wines and delicacies, an evening to celebrate along with wine lovers and wine representatives.

The Simply Italian Tour arrives in Toronto on Monday, February 9th, where in-depth seminars and tastings will unfold at the prestigious AGO – Art Gallery of Ontario.
